Suptask is a Freshservice alternative that keeps IT requests, AI, and approvals in one Slack thread.

Employees and agents work in the same Slack thread instead of notes and notifications.
AI assistants are included from the Growth plan ($38 per agent), with no separate AI add-on.
Suptask supports both rule-based and AI automations with no metered actions to manage.

Free 14-day trial on the Growth plan, no credit card needed
Every plan supports unlimited tickets, requesters, and automations
AI Assistants, SLA management, and SSO from $38, with no AI add-on per seat
Freshservice starts at $19 per agent per month when billed annually.
SLA management and the service catalog start on Growth at $49

If the requests of your team are already coming in Slack, then Suptask is the one you should look at. It is a Freshservice alternative built inside Slack, so the ticket stays in the same channel where the employee has asked for it. Your agents do not have to open one more tool to work on it. The AI Assistants, the SLAs, and the SSO- all of them are included from $38 per agent. Plans are starting at $15 per agent per month on annual billing, and there is no agent minimum which you have to meet.
Freshservice is charging per agent per month and the rates on annual billing are $19 for Starter, $49 for Growth and $99 for the Pro plan. The Enterprise plan does not have a listed price, you have to ask them for a quote. Then there is Freddy AI Copilot, which is a $29 per agent add-on, available on Pro and Enterprise only. One more thing you should check is the SLA management and the service catalog, because these two start with the Growth plan.
Yes, it works, there is an app for it called ServiceBot. Your agents will be getting the notifications in a channel, and in the Home tab they can see their own tickets with the approvals that are pending on them. Now the reply part is a bit different. A reply that is written in the ticket thread of the channel gets saved on the ticket as a private note. Slack is showing only up to 250 characters of each note. For the setup, a Freshservice admin has to install the ServiceBot first, and after that, every agent has to connect their own account.
Right now it is free, but only as a promotion. AI Agent Studio is being offered for free on the Growth plan and the plans above it. This promotion is running till December 31, 2026. What the price will be after that date, Freshworks has not announced yet. There is also the older one, the Freddy AI Agent Classic, and that one you will get on Enterprise only. On the Suptask side, the AI Assistants are included from $38 per agent, and there is no AI add-on that is charged per seat.
No, they are two different products, but the company behind both of them is Freshworks. Freshdesk is made for the customer support side. Freshservice is used for IT and employee services. The ITIL modules like change management or the problem management, these are available on Freshservice only, and that too from the Pro plan. Suptask is handling both of them, the internal requests and the customer requests. All of it is happening inside Slack.
For the IT requests, the incidents, and the approvals that are happening in Slack, yes, it can. But there are two limits that you should know about before deciding. Suptask does not have a dedicated module for change management or problem management. Also, it is not available on Microsoft Teams. If your team is needing the ITIL modules, or if the service desk has to run on Microsoft Teams also, then Freshservice can be kept for that part of the work.
